In April 2021, my husband and I moved from Hamilton to rural Newfoundland, on the Bonavista Peninsula. We felt a yearning for new experiences and a different way of living. I had lived my entire life in Southern Ontario. My husband had previously lived in Newfoundland for 18 years, but the Bonavista area was new to him.

Friends were quite surprised when we announced our plan, never expecting this “city girl” to move to a rock in the middle of the North Atlantic. How’s it going? Read on.
